Jonathan E. Rodwin

Mr. Rodwin is a Partner with the Firm, and is the founding partner of the Firm’s Toronto office, which opened in 1989. Mr. Rodwin lived in Toronto from 1989 through 1991, during which time he devoted his time to working with the Firm’s Canadian clients. Although presently based in the Firm’s office in Buffalo, New York, Mr. Rodwin chairs the Firm’s Canadian practice group and he spends considerable time in the Firm’s Toronto office. A substantial portion of Mr. Rodwin’s legal practice consists of assisting Canadian companies doing business in the United States. In addition, Mr. Rodwin practices U.S. corporate law, with an emphasis on corporate planning, mergers and acquisitions and intellectual property.

Mr. Rodwin is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine (B.A., magna cum laude 1977) and a cum laude graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law (J.D., 1980). Mr. Rodwin has taught courses at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law, including courses in corporate taxation and corporate reorganizations. Mr. Rodwin is a frequent lecturer in Canada on U.S. legal issues for Canadian companies doing business in the U.S. Mr. Rodwin has also lectured at the Annual Institute on Taxation sponsored by the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Management.
