Erin Bahn is a partner with the Firm. Her primary area of practice is immigration law. Ms. Bahn is admitted to practice law in the State of New York. She obtained her Juris Doctor from University at Buffalo Law School. During Law School, Ms. Bahn served as Editor-in-Chief (2000-2001) and as Associate Editor (1999-2000) for the Buffalo Human Rights Law Review. Ms. Bahn's Note, “To Labor in the Dancing World: Human Rights at Work”, was published in The Buffalo Human Rights Law Review, Volume 7, 2001. Ms. Bahn is the recipient of the American Bar Association / Bureau of National Affairs Award, 2001 for her superior academic performance in Labor and Employment Law.
Ms. Bahn attended New York University, Tisch School of the Arts, where she obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance in May of 1998. Ms. Bahn is a New York University Honors Scholar.
Mr. Baird is Of Counsel to the Firm. Mr. Baird's practice focuses on estate planning, wills and trusts, estate administration, and general business law. Mr. Baird received his BA from Haverford College in 1972 and his JD from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law in 1983.
Mr. Baird devotes considerable time to public service matters. He is a trustee of The Cameron and Jane Baird Foundation and has been active in numerous local charities. Mr. Baird received the Nichols School Distinguished Alumni Award and the University at Buffalo School of Law's Community Service Award.
Mr. Becker is a Partner with the Firm. He concentrates his practice on property tax assessment litigation as well as wills, trusts and estate planning. For more than fifteen years, Mr. Becker has appeared for and advised clients in tax certiorari, eminent domain and other commercial litigation matters in federal and state courts throughout New York State. Mr. Becker has lectured and organized programs on property valuation issues and litigation for clients and for various bar associations. Mr. Becker is a 1993 cum laude graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review, and Cornell University (A.B. 1988).
Mr. Becker is a member and past chair of the Erie County Bar Association's Committee on Eminent Domain and Tax Certiorari. He is also a member of the Bar of a number of state and federal courts, the New York State Bar Association and the Erie County Bar Association. Mr. Becker has also been appointed as a hearing referee in tax certiorari matters in the Eighth Judicial District of the New York State Supreme Court (which includes the following Counties: Erie, Allegany, Cattaraugus, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming).
Mr. Becker is a member of the Board of Directors of the UB Law Alumni Association. He is also a Trustee of St. Mary’s School for the Deaf in Buffalo. His public service experience includes handling a variety of matters on a pro bono basis as well as volunteer and charitable work for Cornell University, Nardin Academy and Holy Spirit parish in North Buffalo.
Ms. Chadsey is a Partner with the Firm. Her practice includes commercial and environmental litigation, commercial financing and environmental and real estate law.
Ms. Chadsey has represented clients in litigation matters throughout the United States in both state and federal courts, covering a broad spectrum of issues, including commercial disputes, trademark infringement, environmental matters, employment issues, real estate and foreclosure matters and municipal law matters. Ms. Chadsey has also represented clients on appeal to both state and federal appellate courts. She represents clients in commercial arbitrations and is a certified commercial mediator.
Ms. Chadsey regularly represents both lenders and borrowers in commercial financing transactions. She has represented both private and public entities in the acquisition of real property and its development.
Ms. Chadsey has extensive experience with both state and federal environmental laws and programs, including the Clean Water Act, the Toxic Substances Control Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act and the National Environmental Policy Act, along with their state counterparts. Ms. Chadsey was environmental counsel to a former Fortune 500 company, now privately held, for 19 years. In such capacity, she was involved with M&A transactions, regulatory compliance and defense of both private and governmental environmental claims. Currently, she represents businesses, lending institutions, municipalities and commercial borrowers in property investigation and remediation projects, real property acquisition and development and Brownfield re-development programs. Ms. Chadsey also represents corporate, commercial, financial and municipal clients that have been identified as Potentially Responsible Parties (PRPs) under CERCLA and other federal and state environmental regulatory programs and has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in actions under the New York State Oil Pollution Spill Act.
Ms. Chadsey received a B.S. in Regional and Urban Planning from SUNY College at Buffalo in 1983 and a J.D. from Columbia Law School in 1987 where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and a Teaching Assistant in the Law School’s Clinical Program. Ms. Chadsey is admitted to practice in New York State, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, all New York federal courts and bankruptcy courts and is also admitted to the federal Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
Ms. Chadsey sits on the Board of Directors of Northwest Bancshares, Inc. a NASDAQ listed company and holding company for the Northwest Savings Bank. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Northwest Savings Bank. Her volunteer and community service includes her work as a member of the Board of Directors of the University District C.D.A., Inc. / Gloria J. Parks Community Center. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Western New York Land Conservancy.
Mr. Cohen is a Partner with Firm. He concentrates his practice in United States Immigration Law from 1979 until the present. Mr. Cohen heads the immigration practice group at the Firm. Mr. Cohen received his BA from the University of Chicago in 1965 and his JD from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law in 1969. Mr. Cohen was admitted to the bar in 1970.
Mr. Cohen has been a guest lecturer of Immigration Law at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law and a lecturer for the New York State, Erie County Bar Association and American Immigration Lawyers Association continuing legal education programs. Mr. Cohen is a founding member and officer of the Upstate New York Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyer's Association, a member of the New York State Bar Association, a member of the Erie County Bar Association and a former Chairman of its Immigration Law and Practice Committee. Mr. Cohen is the co-author of United States Immigration for Business, Investors and Workers published by Wm. S. Hein & Co. in 1981, authored "Lawyer's Guide to the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986" and numerous articles related to different aspects of U.S. Immigration Law.
Ms. Eagen is an Associate with Kavinoky Cook LLP. She concentrates her practice in the areas of intellectual property law, including trademark prosecution and litigation, as well as general business litigation. Ms. Eagen is admitted to practice law in the State of New York (2010), and the United States District Court Western District of New York (2010).
Ms. Eagen graduated magna cum laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. She graduated cum laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School in 2009 with a Juris Doctor degree.

Ms. Gardner is a Partner with the Firm. Ms. Gardner practices exclusively in the areas of estate planning, wills, trusts and estate and probate administration. Ms. Gardner is a member and former director (1989-1982) of the Erie County Bar Association, and was chair of its Committee on Surrogate's Practice (1987 to 1989). Ms. Gardner is also a member of the New York State Bar Association and the New York State Women's Bar Association.
Ms. Gardner is a graduate of Smith College and of the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School (1976). She is a member of the SUNYAB Law School's Dean's Advisory Council and is also a member of the Estate Analysts of Western New York. Since 1991, Ms. Gardner was a Trustee of the New York State Interest on Lawyers Accounts Fund, appointed by Chief Judge Judith Kaye, until December 31, 2009. In 1989, Ms. Gardner was elected a Fellow of the American College of Trusts and Estates.
Mr. Gardner is a Partner with the Firm. He represents a wide range of private companies and public companies as their general counsel, securities compliance counsel and in connection with specific transactions, including private offerings. Mr. Gardner has particular experience advising publicly held exploration stage resource companies whose shares trade in the U.S. and Canada. In addition to his general business and securities practice, Mr. Gardner is U.S. counsel to an international public authority. Mr. Gardner's practice areas include securities law, corporate law, general business transactions, venture capital financing and business combinations.
Mr. Gardner received a B.A. with honors from Brown University in 1981 and a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1984. Mr. Gardner is admitted to the state bars of New York and Massachusetts. Mr. Gardner is listed in "Best Lawyers in America" and “Superlawyers.”
Mr. Gardner is an adjunct professor at the University of Buffalo Law School where he teaches a clinical course in corporate and securities law. Among his public service experience, Mr. Gardner was President of the Board, and then Chairman of the Board, of Studio Arena Theatre in Buffalo, New York from 1997 to 2002. He is currently a member of the Board of the Michigan Street Historical Preservation Corporation which owns and operates the Nash House Museum on Nash Street in Buffalo, NY. Mr. Gardner is also pro bono counsel to The Colored Musicians Club of Buffalo.

Mr. Griffin, for over 45 years, has practiced in general litigation and trials, mainly in the areas of personal injury, commercial and business, and public interest matters. He currently devotes most of his practice to serving as a mediator, arbitrator, or settlement counsel.
Best Lawyers in America, from its initial publication in 1983, has listed Mr. Griffin in the fields of personal injury and commercial litigation; and, in the category of Alternative Dispute Resolution, since 2006 when Best Lawyers added this category. New York Super Lawyers, in the 2009 Upstate Edition, featured an interview with Mr. Griffin about his mediation practice.
Mr. Griffin is a member of the Mediation and Arbitration Panels of the American Arbitration Association, the Special Mediation Panel of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York, and the Mediation and Arbitration Panels of the Supreme Court, State of New York, Erie County. He co-founded the Alliance for Dispute Resolution and designed an ADR course as an adjunct professor for SUNY Buffalo Law School where he regularly lectures on mediation and arbitration.

Mr. LoTempio is a Partner in the Firm. Mr. LoTempio focuses his practice on the representation of individuals and small to medium-sized entities (public and private) in commercial transactions, including, but not limited to, mergers, acquisitions, formation and reorganization, construction and permanent financing, private lending, public offerings, low income housing, commercial leasing and tax planning. Mr. LoTempio also advises clients on estate planning, including U.S.-Canadian estate planning issues.
Mr. LoTempio's experience in the finance area includes representation of a manufacturing company with annual sales in excess of $100 million, a retail operation with annual sales in excess of $30 million, a contracting and manufacturing company with annual sales in excess of $50 million, real estate development companies with holdings in excess of $100 million and the Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority in connection with the redevelopment of numerous low income housing projects at an aggregate cost in excess of $50 million which were financed through a combination of Federal and State public financing programs (including the HOPE VI Program, Section 8 and Tax Credits), private financing and a bond offering by said Agency.
He graduated summa cum laude in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Management, and graduated cum laude in 1984 with a Juris Doctor degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law. Mr. LoTempio is admitted to practice law in New York (1984) and in Washington, D.C. (1988), and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Florida since 1984. Mr. Rodwin is a Partner with the Firm, and is the founding partner of the Firm's Toronto office, which opened in 1989. Mr. Rodwin lived in Toronto from 1989 through 1991, during which time he devoted his time to working with the Firm's Canadian clients. Although presently based in the Firm's office in Buffalo, New York, Mr. Rodwin chairs the Firm's Canadian practice group and he spends considerable time in the Firm's Toronto office. A substantial portion of Mr. Rodwin's legal practice consists of assisting Canadian companies doing business in the United States. In addition, Mr. Rodwin practices U.S. corporate law, with an emphasis on corporate planning, mergers and acquisitions and intellectual property.
Mr. Rodwin is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine (B.A., magna cum laude 1977) and a cum laude graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law (J.D., 1980). Mr. Rodwin has taught courses at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law, including courses in corporate taxation and corporate reorganizations. Mr. Rubin is Of Counsel to the Firm. He concentrates in Public and Private Development, Real Property Law and Municipal Law, drawing upon a thirty year career in a wide range of public offices, including the unique experience of having been both the chief legal officer and the chief development and planning official for both the City of Buffalo and the County of Erie. Mr. Rubin has also served as special counsel to a variety of public entities in their development projects, including the City of Buffalo, the Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority and the City of Elmira.
Mr. Rubin was General Counsel to the City of Buffalo's local development companies, the City's Commissioner of Community Development, and Corporation Counsel. He has also served as the Commissioner of Environment and Planning for the County of Erie and as the Erie County Attorney. Between holding his City and his County offices, Mr. Rubin joined Kavinoky Cook LLP and rejoined the firm in November, 2007.
There are few major projects in Buffalo or Erie County that Mr. Rubin has not played a major role in, either as a key project manager or as counsel. Key Towers, Fountain Plaza, HSBC Arena, Ellicott Mall Housing Redevelopment, Frederick Douglas Housing Redevelopment, Dunn Tire Baseball Stadium, Lakeview Housing Redevelopment, the Root Building, New Buffalo Industrial Park, the Market Arcade Cinema and Complex, City Centre, GM Powertrain expansion, the Geico Office Development, and the Steuben Foods Plant development are some of the more well known of the projects he has helped bring to fruition.
Mr. Rubin frequently assists clients and projects in the use of and in many instances the invention of, new and creative public tools to assist private development. He has authored more than a dozen State laws to promote economic development with unique tax and real property tools. Mr. Rubin is a 1977 graduate of the State University at Buffalo Law School and is active in a wide range of community activities
Mr. Shapiro is a Partner with the Firm practicing in the areas of health care, leasing, business law, contracts, mergers and acquisitions, commercial finance, construction law and banking. Mr. Shapiro graduated from Marietta College in 1962 and received his JD from the State University of New York in 1965. Mr. Shapiro is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Erie County Bar Association. He has been the Chairman, Co-Chairman and Lecturer of the Practicing Law Institute’s National Panels on Equipment Leasing. He has been President of the University of Buffalo Law Alumni Association, a Director of the University of Buffalo Law Alumni Association, and is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council of the Law School of the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Mr. Shapiro actively participates in civic and charitable endeavors. He is Vice Chairman of the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Campus, Vice Chairman and a past president of the Rosa Coplon Jewish Home and Infirmary, served as President of Temple Beth Zion, is a Director of the Jewish Federation of Greater Buffalo, Inc., from 2004-2009 he served the Erie County Medical Center Corporation as Vice Chairman and as a member of the Board of Directors from 2007-2009, and from 2007-2009 he also served as Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee.
Mr. Shapiro has achieved the highest Martindale-Hubbell rating (AV) for legal ability and professional standards. Steve Suneson is a partner with the Firm. He concentrates his practice in the areas of business law and commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, secured transactions, commercial contracts, international transactions, corporate finance and corporate structure and governance. Previously, Mr. Suneson practiced business law at a large international law firm in New York City. Steve has lectured on various U.S. legal issues to foreign companies doing business in the U.S.
Fluent in Swedish, and born and raised in Sweden, Mr. Suneson has a particular interest in the representation of Swedish and other European companies and individuals. He is a member of the Swedish-American Bar Association, Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce and a Swedish translator for the International Institute of Buffalo.
Mr. Suneson is a graduate from the University of Colorado (B.A., cum laude, with honors and distinction, 1997) and a Phi Kappa Phi graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School (J.D., cum laude, 2000).
Mr. Wisbaum is a Partner with the Firm and heads the Firm's Real Property Valuation and Tax Assessment Reduction Practice Group. Mr. Wisbaum received his BA from Cornell University in 1956 and his LLB from Harvard Law School in 1959. Mr. Wisbaum is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the Florida Bar Association, the Erie County Bar Association, the American Law Institute, and the American Judicature Society.
Mr. Wisbaum devotes a substantial amount of time to public service. He is immediate past Chairman and President of the Foundation for Jewish Philanthropies, a past Chairman of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, a past Vice Chairman of Artpark & Company, Chairman Emeritus for Life and a past President of Kleinhan's Music Hall, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Buffalo & Erie County Public Libraries, Director Emeritus of the Zoological Society of Buffalo, a member of the Board of Directors of the Irish Classical Theater Company, a past member of the Board of Directors of the Burchfield Penney Art Center, a past member of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation of the State University College at Buffalo, and a member of the Board of Trustees of Daemen College.
